Mission – Nadi Ki Pathshala
Nadi Ki Pathshala is a community-driven, “school without walls” dedicated to reconnecting society with rivers through experiential learning and collective action. Our mission is to help individuals and communities understand rivers as living ecosystems—by exploring their journey from origin to confluence, their flow patterns, riverbanks, seasonal dynamics, and rich biodiversity.
At the heart of our mission lies a strong commitment to transforming drought-prone and water-scarce villages into drought-free and tanker-free communities. We work towards ensuring sustainable and reliable water sources by designing practical, landscape-based solutions and strengthening community capacity through training, participation, and local governance engagement.
We aim to build a strong bridge between youth, academia, and rivers—encouraging young minds to connect with natural water systems while integrating scientific knowledge with traditional wisdom. Through this, we nurture a generation of informed and responsible “River Stewards.”
Creating water literacy and river literacy across society is another key pillar of our mission. We strive to build awareness about the ecological, cultural, and social importance of rivers, while equipping communities with the skills and knowledge required for sustainable water management.
Restoring and maintaining the natural flow of rivers is central to our vision. By strengthening the relationship between rivers and communities, we aim to ensure long-term water security, ecological balance, and resilient livelihoods
Through learning, action, and collective responsibility, Nadi Ki Pathshala envisions a future where rivers flow freely and communities live in harmony with them.
